Developed through Radici Sport’s textile know-how, TURFPAD is an advanced technology that allows additional materials such as felt, geotextile, spunbond or performance padding to be bonded directly onto the traditional primary backing of the turf.
This process enables the synthetic grass fibers to pass through both the selected material and the primary backing during the weaving phase itself, creating a more structured and high-performing system.

One of the most distinctive characteristics of TURFPAD is its outstanding water retention capacity. The structured turf can retain up to 33% of water, helping significantly reduce the need for irrigation in regions with hot or dry climates.
This feature contributes directly to lowering the surface temperature of the field, creating a fresher and more comfortable playing experience even during the warmest periods of the year.
Tests conducted by a specialized laboratory certified by FIGC-LND, FIFA and WR demonstrated a temperature reduction of:
-11.6°C in absolute terms
-28% in percentage terms

Despite its ability to retain moisture, TURFPAD technology does not affect the turf’s drainage performance.
The system ensures optimal water flow in all conditions, maintaining excellent drainage capacity while supporting the cooling effect generated by water retention.
Synthetic turf systems produced with TURFPAD technology achieve drainage values:
- more than three times higher than the minimum required by current FIGC-LND regulations
- seven times higher than FIFA and WR standards
