Safety in sports facilities also depends on the hygiene of the playing surface.
That’s why Radici Sport developed TURFGUARD, an innovative treatment that provides permanent antimicrobial protection for synthetic turf, thanks to a special additive with ionized microelements. Unlike traditional biocide-based approaches, TURFGUARD contains no harmful substances and works without altering the material’s chemical and physical properties, preserving integrity and performance over time. A choice that combines maximum safety and respect for the environment, with a protective action designed to last for the entire lifespan of the turf.
The benefits of ionized microelements
EFFECTIVENESS | SAFETY | STABILITY | PROTECTION
Ionized microelements deliver protection that is integrated into the turf system, designed to last over time without compromising performance. The treatment is non-toxic and suitable for different applications, with a long-lasting antimicrobial action that poses no risks to health or the environment. At the same time, it preserves the material’s characteristics, with no alteration of the chemical or physical properties of the treated components, ensuring stability, integrity, and reliability. The result is proven effectiveness, as ionized microelements inhibit or limit bacterial replication without killing microorganisms.
Your synthetic turf, safe forever.
TURFGUARD permanently inhibits bacterial growth and provides a much safer alternative in terms of hygiene and environmental impact compared to traditional antibacterial agents.
Why don’t we use biocides?
Biocides are chemical substances used to eliminate harmful organisms, but they can pose toxicity risks to both people and the environment. Their handling can also create hazards for those responsible for storage, periodic use, maintenance, and disposal. TURFGUARD was developed to offer a safer alternative.
Testing on our turf systems
The effectiveness of the bacteriostatic action was verified through a comparative test on treated and untreated samples, following the AATCC-TM100 methodology “Antibacterial finishes on textile materials” (ACCREDIA-accredited method, ISO/IEC 17025), carried out by a laboratory appointed by FIGC-LND, FIFA, and WR. Analyses on the Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram -) bacterial strain confirm a 98.32% reduction of the bacterial load on the tested turf.
